Because of the high cost of maintaining the SCAWeb Shop, the on-line application for renewal and application for membership has been disabled.
The SCAShop has been a great succes with a total turnover of US$ 350,000+ and 529 orders since 2004. The need for a web shop maintained by the SCA itself was greatly reduced because of the Boards decision to use an external hosted web application for registering the annual symposium attendees and hotel reservations. Because of this, the total number of sales via the SCAWeb shop dropped from 200+ in 2006 to 10 in 2007 and only 1 in the first half of 2008. This shows that the SCAWeb shop is at this time not a feasible service of the SCA.
